The game in Klaipeda was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Jonava (8-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Neptunas (6-9). Jonava defeated Neptunas 87-75 on Monday. It was a great evening for Belgian point guard Emmanuel Lecomte (180-95, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 4 assists. Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. Five Jonava players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-88) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Zygimantas Janavicius (193-89, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Jonava maintains sixth place with 8-9 record. Loser Neptunas keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Jonava will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neptunas will play against the league's leader Zalgiris (#1) and hope to secure a win.
