Fifteenth-ranked Skyliners (5-11) were very close to win a game against sixth ranked Chemnitz (12-6) on Friday. Chemnitz managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Skyliners. Chemnitz looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Haitian guard Frantz Massenat (193-92, college: Drexel) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 5 assists. Lithuanian Mindaugas Susinskas (204-95) accounted for 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Chemnitz's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) came up with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Jamel McLean (202-88, college: Xavier) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Skyliners in the defeat. Five Chemnitz and four Skyliners players scored in double figures. Chemnitz moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ludwigsburg. Loser Skyliners keep the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Chemnitz will meet MLP Academics Heidelberg (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Skyliners will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg and hope to secure a win.
