Regular Season Round 19: Rhoendorf - Duesseldorf 73-83

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (6-8) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Duesseldorf (8-6) 83-73 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Lithuanian Andrius Mikutis (195-88, college: John Brown, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. Guard Jacob Engelhardt (190-97) helped adding 16 points. Four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and Paul Albrecht (208-93) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Duesseldorf have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain sixth place in North with 8-6 record. Newly promoted Dragons Rhoendorf keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Duesseldorf will meet at home higher ranked Schwelm (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against TKS 49ers (#4) in Stahnsdorf and hope to secure a win.
