No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Schwelm (9-7) defeated at home 11th ranked Rhein Stars (3-12) 78-66 on Saturday. Schwelm dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Rhein Stars' 18 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Glen Burns (191-95, college: Chicago St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 4 assists. Marco Hollersbacher (202-0) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Schwelm players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Vincent Golson Jr (173-94, college: CSUDH) responded with 26 points and center Florian Wendeler (205-93) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Rhein Stars' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Schwelm have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with TKS 49ers. Newly promoted Rhein Stars keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Schwelm will meet Duesseldorf (#6) on the road in the next round. Rhein Stars will play against Sixers (#7) in Sandersdorf and hope to secure a win.
