We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Hanau where ninth ranked Coburg (7-9) edged 8th ranked White Wings (6-9) 86-85 on Saturday. Coburg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to White Wings' 32. It was a great evening for Spanish guard Jose Carrasco (186-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 6 assists. Nigerian-American forward Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: SJSU) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. Coburg's coach Valentino Lott used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American swingman JD Tisdale (196-93, college: Rogers St.) responded with 15 points and 7 assists and Dion Mohammed Braimoh (195-99) scored 23 points. Five Coburg and four White Wings players scored in double figures. Coburg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place in South. Loser White Wings dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Coburg will meet higher ranked Skyliners II (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. White Wings will play against Speyer and hope to secure a win.
