Regular Season Round 22: Bayer Giants - Kirchheim 102-99

The most exciting game of round 22 in the ProA took place in Leverkusen. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Kirchheim Knights (11-10) to fifth ranked Leverkusen (13-7) 102-99 on Saturday evening. Leverkusen looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Kirchheim Knights helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Quentin Goodin (193-97, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. Center Dennis Heinzmann (216-91) contributed with 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Leverkusen's coach Hans-Juergen Gnad used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade, agency: Players Group) replied with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner, agency: Players Group) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Four Leverkusen and five Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Leverkusen have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Karlsruhe PS. Leverkusen are looking forward to face Lions (#8) in Karlsruhe in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play at home against the league's second-placed Seawolves and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
