Liga Nationala top team - Arad (16-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Targu Secuiesc (5-7) 84-59. The game without a history. Arad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Secuiesc's 34. Arad had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Targu Secuiesc's players. American guard Andreona Keys (178-95, college: Purdue) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 4 assists. Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Keys is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Antoinette Lewis (185-99, college: USA) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian point guard Ines Corda (169-95) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Targu Secuiesc. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arad have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-1 record. Targu Secuiesc at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Arad are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Botosani (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Targu Secuiesc will play against Cluj Napoca (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
