Regular Season Round 10: Agronomia - Stiinta 62-100

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Agronomia (6-4) was smashed by top-ranked Stiinta (8-0) in Bucuresti 100-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Stiinta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Agronomia's 28 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Stiinta looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Agronomia's players. American forward Jordan Taylor (198-98, college: Stockton) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Armin Cane (188-93, college: Stockton) supported him with 19 points, 11 assists and 7 steals. Taylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Stiinta players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds by forward Adrian Oprea (193-95) did not help to save the game for Agronomia. Guard Alexandru Lazar (187-2) added 13 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Stiinta have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Agronomia keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Sibiu 2. Stiinta will meet at home league's leader Targu Mures in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Agronomia will play against the league's leader Targu Mures (#1) and hope to secure a win.
