Regular Season Round 14: SKM II - SKM I 41-57

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vilniaus: SKM I (#2) and SKM II (#8). SKM II was smashed at home by 16 points 41-57 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 57-41. SKM I dominated on the defensive end, holding SKM II to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded SKM II 51-33 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Naglis Sadreika (196-4) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Paulius Velutis (188-4) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Swingman Mantas Janciauskas (193-4) replied with 7 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Rokas Cepononis (184-4) added 9 points in the effort for SKM II. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKM I (12-3) keeps a position of league leader. SKM II lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. SKM I are looking forward to face Panevezio (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. SKM II will play against ASRC in Alytus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
