Regular Season Round 18: Craiova - Sibiu 88-76

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Sibiu (8-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Craiova (9-4) 88-76 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Craiova. Sibiu managed to win third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sibiu's 34. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Qualls (197-94, college: Arkansas, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Bogdan Tibirna (211-91, agency: BIG) chipped in 13 points. Four Craiova players scored in double figures. Craiova's coach Michalis Kakiouzis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and international point guard Lucas Tohatan (187-99) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. Craiova maintains fifth position with 9-4 record. Loser Sibiu keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Craiova will meet Galati (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sibiu will play against Oradea (#4) and hope to secure a win.
