An exciting game was played in Stara Zagora. Top-ranked Beroe faced 3rd ranked Slavia. Host Beroe (3-0) smashed guests from Sofia (0-4) 91-59. Beroe dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 30. Beroe forced 24 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Slavia's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa) who added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Beroe players scored in double figures. Beroe's coach Tatyana Gateva felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international guard Veronika Djikova (179-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and center Mina Vasileva (185-2) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Beroe have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position in Places 1-3 with 3-0 record. Loser Slavia still closes the standings with four games lost. Beroe will meet league's second-placed Montana on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Slavia will have a break next round.
