An interesting game took place in Wels where higher ranked UBC St. Poelten (8-7) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (4-10) 69-50 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UBC St. Poelten to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded UBC St. Poelten 46-33 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. At the losing side the former international forward Guylain Mbemba (197-3) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels maintains ninth position with 4-10 record. UBC St. Poelten lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels are looking forward to face higher ranked Dukes (#7) in Klosterneuburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UBC St. Poelten will play at home against Arkadia Lions and is hoping to win this game.
