The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Erebuni's (17-3) road victory over 3rd ranked Falcons (10-10) in Gyumri 122-93 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Erebuni led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Falcons' players. American players dominated also this game. Swingman Edwin Cole (203, college: Frostburg St.) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Robert Hobson (197-96, college: JWU, NC, agency: ASEC) supported him with 39 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Hobson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by swingman Deojunique Flippin (198-94, college: Livingstone, agency: Green Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Falcons. Point guard Michael Sparks (178-95, college: Chadron St.) added 28 points and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Erebuni have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-3 record behind leader Urartu. Newly promoted Falcons dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Erebuni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Yerevan to the arena AIA Yerevan.
