Regular Season Round 16: Naestved - Vaerlose 102-78
Date: February 3, 2022
Rather predictable result when third ranked Naestved (11-5) smashed at home 7th ranked Vaerlose (5-9) 102-78. Naestved dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 40. They outrebounded Vaerlose 48-32 including a 43-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naestved players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by Burkinabe-American Bubu Palo (185-91, college: Iowa St.) who scored that evening 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Brevin Pritzl (191-96, college: Wisconsin, agency: GoEmpire Group) supported him with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Naestved players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds by point guard Asbjorn Nerlov (196-98) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. The former international forward Peter Moller (190-94, college: MSU Denver) added 16 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Naestved maintains third position with 11-5 record having three points less than leader Bakken. Vaerlose at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Naestved will play against BAC (#6) in Aarhus in the next round. Vaerlose will play at home against the league's second-placed Svendborg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
