Regular Season Round 20: Cesme - Adana 58-81

Everything could happen in Izmir at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Adana and 10th ranked Cesme had identical 8-11 record. But Cesme was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Adana 81-58 on Friday night. Adana forced 22 Cesme turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian power forward Ashley Ezeh (191-92, college: Texas St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Halime Vural (-98) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Adana players scored in double figures. Adana's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian center Milena Marjanovic (193-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and forward Dilek Dedeoglu (183-83) scored 20 points. Adana (9-11) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Fenerbahce G. Loser Cesme dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Tarsus and Uludag. Adana will meet at home bottom-ranked Samsun (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cesme will play against Mersin (#3) and hope to secure a win.
