Regular Season Round 20: Bayreuth - Hamburg 90-71

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Hamburg Towers (10-9) were crushed on the road by twelfth ranked Bayreuth (9-10) 90-71 on Saturday. Bayreuth looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Sacar Anim (196-97, college: Marquette) who scored 22 points and 8 assists. Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Five Bayreuth players scored in double figures. American point guard Jaylon Brown (183-94, college: Evansville) produced 24 points and forward Robin Christen (202-91) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Bayreuth moved-up to tenth place. Hamburg Towers lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Bayreuth will meet at home MLP Academics Heidelberg (#14) in the next round. Hamburg Towers will play against s Oliver Baskets (#17) and hope to secure a win.
