Regular Season Round 21: Nevezis - Jonava 95-100

Rather expected game in Kedainiai where 9th ranked Nevezis (5-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Jonava (9-9) 100-95 on Saturday. Jonava looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Belgian point guard Emmanuel Lecomte (180-95, college: Baylor) who scored 29 points and 6 assists. The former international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: BIG) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. Four Jonava players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard TJ Starks (188-98, college: CSUN) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and Latvian Rihards Kuksiks (201-88, college: Arizona St.) added 21 points respectively. Nevezis' coach Gediminas Petrauskas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jonava moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Juventus. Loser Nevezis keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Jonava will meet at home Juventus (#5) in the next round. Nevezis will play against the league's second-placed Rytas (#2) in Vilnius and hope to secure a win.
