Second Stage Round 4: LSU-Atletas - Suduva-Mantinga 67-75

An interesting game for Suduva-Mantinga (25-3) which played road game in Kaunas against 4th ranked LSU-Atletas (16-12). First ranked Suduva-Mantinga managed to get a 8-point victory 75-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of LSU-Atletas. Suduva-Mantinga players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. LSU-Atletas was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Sarunas Beniusis (206-93, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Ignas Labutis (199-94) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Karolis Babkauskas (185-91, agency: BIG) responded with 17 points and point guard Aidas Kavaliauskas (185-95, college: Fairfield) scored 12 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-3 record. Newly promoted LSU-Atletas keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Zalgiris II (#5) in Kaunas in the next round. LSU-Atletas will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gargzdu in Gargzdai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
