A very close game took place in Mersin between Tarsus and Urla. Twelfth ranked Tarsus (8-12) got a very close home victory over 14th ranked Urla (6-14). Tarsus managed to escape with a 2-point win 55-53 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and guard Cansu Yetis (168-93) who added 11 points and 8 assists during the contest. American forward Caitlin Jenkins (190, college: Rutgers) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds and Avinar Kaya (-98) scored 14 points. Tarsus moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Cesme and Uludag. Urla lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Tarsus will meet higher ranked Rize (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Urla will play against the league's leader Emlak (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
