Very expected game when bottom-ranked Akmenes P. (0-12) was crushed at home by first ranked Alytaus (12-1) 100-29 on Saturday. Alytaus held Akmenes P. to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Alytaus forced 30 Akmenes P. turnovers and outrebounded them 57-35 including a 29-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Akmenes P.'s players. The best player for the winners was guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-92) who scored 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). Alytaus will meet at home Vilniaus Svaja (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Akmenes P. will play against Zalgiris (#4) in Kaunas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
