Regular Season Round 17: Wels - Kapfenberg 91-67

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (7-8) were crushed on the road by eighth ranked Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (5-11) 91-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-67. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American Cameron DeLaney (193-95, college: SHSU) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Jimbo Lull (213-96, college: USF) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels' coach Sebastian Waser felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian forward Nemanja Krstic (205-93) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian forward Dejan Cigoja (205-88) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels maintains eighth place with 5-11 record. Loser Kapfenberg Bulls keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will meet at home league's second-placed Gunners Oberwart in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against UBC St. Poelten (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
