Regular Season Round 19: Bornova - TED Ankara 90-80

Very expected game when 11th ranked TED Ankara (6-12) lost to sixth ranked Bornova (12-6) in Izmir 80-90 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). His fellow American import forward Timothy Williams (205-93, college: N.Mexico, agency: Players Group) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Bornova players scored in double figures. Forward Deniz Celen (203-97, college: SFC, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta) added 20 points respectively for TED Ankara in the defeat. TED Ankara's coach Emrah Benli let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bornova moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. TED Ankara lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Bornova will meet OGM Orman (#7) in the next round. TED Ankara will play against Akhisar Bld (#16) and hope to secure a win.
