The game between Top Four teams took place in Cluj Napoca. 4th placed host Cluj CSU (6-4) was smashed by leader Stiinta (10-0) 107-74. The game without a history. Stiinta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Stiinta forced 19 Cluj CSU turnovers and outrebounded them 45-25 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Cluj CSU's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Andrei Petica (192-93) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Armin Cane (188-93, college: Stockton) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Cane is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Stiinta players scored in double figures. Center Mihnea-Tudor Brie (196-1) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Tudor Valeanu (182-1) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for Cluj CSU in the defeat. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Stiinta. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Cluj CSU at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Sibiu 2 and Agronomia. Stiinta will play against Sibiu 2 (#5) on the road in the next round. Cluj CSU will play against Iasi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
