The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Mazeikiai's (11-18) road loss to ninth ranked Palanga (16-14) 58-66 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Justin Young (201-98, college: CPP) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard DJ Hanes (185-95, college: Nebraska Chr., agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Medas Kuprijanovas (197-96) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and Robert Subotkevic (203-98) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Mazeikiai's coach Mindaugas Janiska tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Palanga. They maintain ninth place with 16-14 record. Mazeikiai at the other side keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. Palanga will meet Delikatesas (#13) in the next round. Mazeikiai will have a break next round.
