Second Stage Round 6: Silute - Gargzdu 69-71

Fifth-ranked Silute (15-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Gargzdu (26-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Gargzdai managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Silute. 24 personal fouls committed by Silute helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Mindaugas Stasys (179-86) who scored 14 points and 4 assists. Marius Runkauskas (186-86, agency: BIG) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Five Gargzdu players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Andrius Gaidys (180-94) who recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American Delante Jones (194-95, college: Seattle) added 17 points respectively. Gargzdu have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 26-6 record having just ten point less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Silute at the other side keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. Gargzdu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Silute will play on the road against LSU-Atletas (#4) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
