Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Chemnitz and 5th ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg had identical 13-6 record. This time Chemnitz used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ludwigsburg 74-56 on Saturday night. Chemnitz outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 40-27 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Jonas Richter (205-97) stepped up and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Eric Washington (182-93, college: Miami, OH) chipped in 12 points. The best for the losing side was American Justin Simon (196-96, college: St.John's) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Jonah Radebaugh (190-97, college: N.Colorado) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chemnitz. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ulm. Loser EnBW Ludwigsburg dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Chemnitz will meet at home league's leader Bayern Muenchen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against BG Goettingen (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
