There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Ulm BBU 01 (7-9) outleveled on the road higher ranked Kronberg (9-6) 104-68 on Saturday. Ulm BBU 01 forced 21 Kronberg turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Latrell Grosskopf (200-1) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds and Tobias Jensen (180-4) who added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Naturalized Eritrean forward Jonathan Mesghna (198-89, college: MSUB) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 19 rebounds and Daniel Medo (197-95) scored 16 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ulm BBU 01 moved-up to eighth place in South West. Loser Kronberg keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Ulm BBU 01 will meet at home higher ranked Fellbach (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kronberg will play against Reutlingen and hope to secure a win.
