The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Hakro Merlins' (11-7) road loss to sixth ranked ALBA Berlin (13-5) 74-106 on Sunday. Naturalized Brazilian Oscar Da Silva (206-98, college: Stanford) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Polish-Israeli Yovel Zoosman (198-98) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard TJ Shorts (175-97, college: UC Davis) with 18 points and 6 assists and the former international Fabian Bleck (197-93) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for ALBA Berlin. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Loser Hakro Merlins keep the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Goettingen. ALBA Berlin will meet Skyliners (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hakro Merlins will play against 46ers (#17) and hope to secure a win.
