Regular Season Round 25: Rostock - Nuernberg 105-70

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Seawolves as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Seawolves smashed 3rd placed Falcons in Rostock 105-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Falcons. Seawolves looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Falcons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Nijal Pearson (196-97, college: Texas St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import point guard Chris Carter (193-92, college: Florida Tech) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Seawolves' coach Christian Held felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Jonathan Maier (211-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Dupree McBrayer (195-96, college: Minnesota) added 14 points in the effort for Falcons. Five Seawolves and four Falcons players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Falcons at the other side keep the third place with seven games lost. Falcons will play next round against Schwenningen trying to get back on the winning streak. Seawolves will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Science City Jena on the road.
