Regular Season Round 18: Randers - Vaerlose 109-92
Date: February 13, 2022
Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Randers (11-6) won against at home 7th ranked Vaerlose (5-12) 109-92 on Sunday. They outrebounded Vaerlose 42-25 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Randers looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Randers made 8 blocks. American guard Brandon Randolph (187-1995, college: Utah Valley) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Josh Fortune (196-1994, college: Colorado) supported him with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Fortune is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 18 points and 4 assists by guard Mikkel Hauge (193-1999, college: Seattle) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Point guard Asbjorn Nerlov (196-1998) added 16 points and 4 assists. Five Randers and four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Randers maintains fifth position with 11-6 record. Vaerlose lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost.
