Regular Season Round 22: TKS 49ers - Iserlohn 85-80

Everything went according to plan in Stahnsdorf where fourth ranked TKS 49ers (11-7) beat 8th ranked Kangaroos (7-8) 85-80 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. TKS 49ers made 30-of-34 free shots (88.2 percent) during the game, while Kangaroos only scored eleven points from the stripe. TKS 49ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Yannick Hildebrandt (195-97) fired 18 points for the winners. Center Niklas Ney (208-95, college: Mercer) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four TKS 49ers players scored in double figures. Croatian point guard Toni Prostran (183-91) produced 18 points and 4 assists and Emil Loch (199-2) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Kangaroos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TKS 49ers moved-up to third place in North. Kangaroos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. TKS 49ers will meet league's leader Muenster on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kangaroos will play against Rist Wedel (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
