Very expected game when 11th ranked Brasov (2-13) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Alexandria (12-5) 76-49. The game without a history. Alexandria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brasov to just 2 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Brasov 51-24 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Alexandria players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Mexican center Myriam Lara (186-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Catalina Craciunescu (166-2) who added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian forward Latinka Dusanic (175-90) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alexandria maintains fourth position with 12-5 record. Brasov lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Alexandria will play against league's second-placed Sf.Gheorghe in Sfantu Gheorghe in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Brasov will play on the road against Rapid Bucuresti (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
