Regular Season Round 21: Anadolu Efes - Tofas 84-77

There was no surprise in Istanbul where 6th ranked Tofas (12-9) was defeated by second ranked Efes (16-4) 84-77 on Sunday. Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was German center Tibor Pleiss (221-1989) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. French Adrien Moerman (202-1988) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Efes' coach Ergin Ataman used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian point guard Tyler Ennis (188-1994, college: Syracuse) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Kasey Shepherd (189-1994, college: La-Lafayette) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Efes and five Tofas players scored in double figures. Efes have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-4 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Loser Tofas keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Galatasaray.
