There was a surprise result in Quakenbrueck where fifteenth ranked Artland Dragons (7-15) won against higher ranked Tigers (14-8) 103-97 on Tuesday. Artland Dragons made 30-of-36 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Tigers only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Tigers 49-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Artland Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Czech center Adam Pechacek (206-1995) who scored 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Naturalized American point guard Zachary Ensminger (195-2001) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Ryan Mikesell (201-1996, college: Dayton) added 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Tigers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons maintains fifteenth position with 7-15 record. Tigers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Nuernberg. Artland Dragons will meet at home league's leader Seawolves in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tigers will play against Falcons in Nuernberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
