Regular Season Round 23: Bball Loewen - OrangeAcad. 93-68

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Erfurt where 4th placed OrangeAcademy (11-7) was crushed by fifth ranked Loewen (12-7) 93-68 on Wednesday. Loewen forced 19 OrangeAcademy turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 70.6 percentage. Loewen looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Ivorian-French swingman Guy Landry Edi (202-1988, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. American Tyseem Lyles (185-1992, college: Mercy) helped adding 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Loewen's coach Uvis Helmanis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Latrell Grosskopf (200-2001) responded with 14 points and 5 assists and Austrian David Fuchs (198-2003) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Loewen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in South. OrangeAcademy lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Loewen will meet at home White Wings (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. OrangeAcademy will have a break next round.
