Regular Season Round 21: Edremit - Antalya 101-50

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Edremit (14-6) outplayed 13th ranked Antalya (7-14) in Balikesir 101-50 on Saturday. Edremit forced 19 Antalya turnovers and outrebounded them 54-32 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Antalya's players. American forward Mikayla Cowling (188-1996, college: California, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and forward Ozge Karatas (174-1996) accounted for 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Edremit players scored in double figures. American forward Angela Tompkins (188-1991, college: Wichita St.) came up with 24 points and 9 rebounds and Gunesh Karaoglan (-1997) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Antalya in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Edremit moved-up to fifth place. Antalya at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Edremit will meet Tarsus (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Antalya will play against Bodrum and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
