Regular Season Round 18: Izmit - Kayseri 53-60

There was a minor upset in Kocaeli where 11th ranked Izmit (5-12) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Kayseri (4-13) 60-53 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Egle Siksniute (198-1991) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Brooque Williams (172-1989, college: California, PA) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Kayseri's coach Ayhan Avci allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Nirra Fields (175-1993, college: UCLA, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and American center Kristina Higgins (196-1994, college: Baylor) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Kayseri maintains thirteenth position with 4-13 record. Loser Izmit keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Kayseri will meet at home league's second-placed Ormanspor in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Izmit will play against Bursa (#5) and hope to secure a win.
