Rather expected game in Tuebingen where 10th ranked Phoenix Hagen (11-10) was defeated by seventh ranked Tigers (14-8) 95-90 on Saturday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 28. Tigers forced 19 Phoenix Hagen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) who scored 30 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Ryan Mikesell (201-1996, college: Dayton) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Haitian-American guard Shawn Occeus (193-1997, college: Northeastern) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and American point guard CJ Walker (185-1997, college: Ohio St.) added 17 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Five Tigers and four Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tigers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nuernberg. Loser Phoenix Hagen keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Tigers will meet Falcons (#5) in the next round. Phoenix Hagen will play against Rasta Vechta (#14) and hope to secure a win.
