We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked Bergedorf (6-14) was outleveled on the road by thirteenth ranked SG Braunschweig (6-12) 84-63 on Saturday. SG Braunschweig outrebounded Bergedorf 40-27 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Joshua Burgunder (194-2001) nailed 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Simon Roosch (198-2001) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four SG Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Aleksandar Postic (195-2000) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Croatian Matej Jelovcic (185-1998) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bergedorf in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SG Braunschweig moved-up to twelfth place in North. Bergedorf lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. SG Braunschweig will meet league's leader Vechta-2 on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bergedorf will play against Wolfenbuettel (#10) and hope to secure a win.
