Rather predictable result in Sakiai where eighth ranked Vytis (19-14) defeated 10th ranked Mazeikiai (11-20) 98-90 on Saturday. Vytis looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Aurelijus Pukelis (205-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Marijus Uzupis (197-1993) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international Mindaugas Motuzas (202-1996) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and Robert Subotkevic (203-1998) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vytis maintains eighth position with 19-14 record. Mazeikiai lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 20 games lost. Vytis will meet at home Palanga (#9) in the next round. Mazeikiai will play against Neptunas-Akv. in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
