Regular Season Round 16: SKM I - ASRC 93-65

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SKM I as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SKM I smashed 5th ranked ASRC in Vilniaus 93-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ASRC. The game was mostly controlled by SKM I. ASRC managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to ASRC's 38. SKM I forced 19 ASRC turnovers. Forward Motiejus Maziliauskas (200-2004) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Kristupas Vigraitis (192-2004) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five SKM I players scored in double figures. Forward Nojus Lebskas (197-2004) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Saimonas Jeremicius (195-2004) added 4 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. ASRC at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. ASRC will play next round against Panevezio trying to get back on the winning streak. SKM I will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked VKM. It will be extra interesting game as VKM is their local rival from Vilniaus.
