Second Stage Round 4: MBA - Goettingen 69-79

Not a big story in a game in Weissenfels where 4th ranked MBA (4-7) was defeated by second ranked Goettingen (8-5) 79-69 on Sunday. Goettingen outrebounded MBA 49-38 including 28 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Christopher Schultz (194-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 20 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals (made all of his eight free throws) and Tobias Dohrmann (192-2004) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Haris Ganibegovic (180-2003) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Sean Ludwig (194-2003) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Goettingen maintains second position in East with 8-5 record having just three points less than leader Ludwigsburg BBA. Loser MBA keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Goettingen will meet Dresden (#6) on the road in the next round. MBA will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
