Very expected game when 13th ranked Schwenningen (10-14) was edged on the road by ninth ranked Phoenix Hagen (14-10) 94-91 on Wednesday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Phoenix Hagen forced 20 Schwenningen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for center Marcel Kessen (207-1997, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard CJ Walker (185-1997, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 15 points and 12 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Phoenix Hagen have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Schwenningen lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Phoenix Hagen will meet at home league's second-placed Science City Jena in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Schwenningen will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) in Allmendingen and hope to secure a win.
