Second Stage Round 3: Bahmut - KSLI-Kyiv 53-129

There was no surprise when Bahmut (0-9) was crushed at home by KSLI-Kyiv (5-4) 129-53 on Wednesday. The game without a history. KSLI-Kyiv led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bahmut to just 4 points in first quarter. KSLI-Kyiv held Bahmut to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.9 percent accuracy of the winners. KSLI-Kyiv forced 37 Bahmut turnovers and outrebounded them 58-44 including 25 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 43 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Bahmut's players. It was a great evening for Oleksandr Martyniuk who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 17 assists. Illia Saltovets helped adding 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals. Five KSLI-Kyiv players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Yaroslav Savelyev (-2005) with 2 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivan Kuzmenko (-2005) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KSLI-Kyiv will meet SDYUSHOR-5 in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bahmut will play against Cherkasy (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
