There was a small surprise in Klaipeda where twelfth ranked Neptunas-Akv. (10-23) defeated 10th ranked Mazeikiai (11-21) 83-76 on Thursday. Lukas Kreismontas (197-2001) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 assists for the winners and center Oskaras Pleikys (202-2001, agency: BIG) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Simonas Serapinas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Karolis Babusis (187-2000) with 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Robert Subotkevic (203-1998) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Neptunas-Akv.. They moved-up to eleventh place. Mazeikiai lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 21 games lost. Neptunas-Akv. will meet higher ranked Palanga (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mazeikiai will play against Delikatesas and hope to secure a win.
