There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Vilnius (8-21) beat on the road 11th ranked Kretinga (10-24) 92-79 on Thursday. Vilnius forced 21 Kretinga turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Arnas Adomavicius (191-2000, college: UNCG) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 assists for the winners and Greek Andreas Kalogiros (198-2002) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Vilnius players scored in double figures. Vilnius' coach Edvinas Justas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Domininkas Matutis (178-1991) with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Rytis Zabita (200-1994) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Vilnius maintains thirteenth place with 8-21 record. Kretinga lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 24 games lost. Vilnius will meet at home higher ranked Vytis (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kretinga will have a break next round.
