Very expected game when 12th ranked Fethiye (7-13) was smashed at home by second ranked Samsun (16-5) 97-72 on Saturday. Samsun dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Fethiye's 30 and made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Samsun looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard JJ Frazier (178-1995, college: Georgia) notched 26 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Goktug Bas (201-2001) supported him with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by forward Murat Erensoy (201-1991) did not help to save the game for Fethiye. American guard Raquan Mitchell (190-1997, college: NMHU) added 20 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Samsun keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Manisa. Loser Fethiye dropped to the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Samsun will meet at home league's leader Manisa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fethiye will play against Mersin BBGSK (#9) and hope to secure a win.
