Ninth-ranked Cankaya (7-12) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Nesibe (14-5) in Ankara on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected much easier game. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Jessica Thomas (168-1994, college: Miami, FL) who led her team to a victory scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Alaina Coates (193-1995, college: S.Carolina) helped adding 17 points and 16 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Tan White (170-1982, college: MSU) responded with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and swingman Alexis Prince (188-1994, college: Baylor) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Nesibe maintains fourth place with 14-5 record. Cankaya at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Nesibe will meet at home Galatasaray (#6) in the next round. Cankaya will play against Izmit (#11) in Kocaeli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
