Second Stage Round 4: Galomar - Barreirense 102-106

There was an upset when higher ranked Galomar (13-5) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Barreirense (12-6) 106-102 on Sunday. Barreirense forced 23 Galomar turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Dexter McClanahan (193, college: Nicholls St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Shannon Hale Jr (203-1994, college: Alabama) who added 19 points during the contest. Barreirense's coach Henrique Pina used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Antonio Mendes responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Darrion Allen (188-1994, college: Longwood, agency: Promo Sport ID) scored 22 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Barreirense moved-up to ninth place. Loser Galomar keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Barreirense will meet league's leader Sangalhos on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Galomar will play against Belenenses and hope to secure a win.
