Regular Season Round 28: Gyumri - Artsakh 96-99

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Gyumri where sixth ranked Artsakh (10-13) edged 5th ranked Falcons (11-16) 99-96 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 33-24 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Falcons outrebounded Artsakh 46-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Justin Sutton (187-1996, college: Medgar Evers) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists and point guard Bagrat Mikayelyan (190-1994) who added 23 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Sutton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Artsakh players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Deojunique Flippin (198-1994, college: Livingstone, agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Darrell Riley (173, college: Detroit) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Artsakh have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Artsakh maintains sixth position with 10-13 record. Falcons lost sixth consecutive game. Falcons at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth place with 16 games lost.
